This was a project based on the idea of something to contain the body. My container was garment-like in its construction and containment, with a draping element that was made up of zip ties. I have always felt that architecture is comparable to fashion garments because of the way they both hold the human form, although at vastly different scales. I saw the zip ties as a prototype for what other material could come into play later. I wanted the body to provide some of the shape, but also have hoops that provide a separate structure, allowing the project to become more architectural.
